Induction Project 2023
Getting stuck straight in is the best way to start! These induction tasks have been designed to make sure that you are fully committed to your course and to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills.
Task 1 Due 15th September 2023

Task 1
In a group or individually you are to create a short performance (no more than 3 minutes long!!!) based on one of the following themes/scenarios:
1. What a disaster!
2. Bad news
3. A prize-winning discovery
4. Lost and found
5. A great escape
6. What makes me angry...
7. This is me
* You may incorporate any performance style into your piece (singing, acting, dance, musical instrument, rap, digital production etc.)
* You will need to ensure that you communicate your theme/scenario creatively to the audience
Make sure that you consider the following things;
Who are you?
Where are you?
What links your characters?
What is the intention of the piece?
Eye contact, use of voice, confidence, body language and stage presence.
Do you require a prop or costume?
Do you require any technology/equipment?
Hand-out date: TUESDAY 5th September 2023
Deadline: You will perform your scenes on Friday 15th September 2023
Task 2
Reflecting on your performance
Write a short evaluation of your performance. Make sure that you address the following areas;
Developing the scenario - how did you come up with your ideas?
Working as a team
Characterisation – How did you build and develop your character?
Use of voice, body language, facial expression, movement, use of props and or costume, confidence and focus. Explain why you chose to perform techniques in the way that you did.
Rehearsal discipline, organisation and preparation
Strengths and weaknesses (WWW & EBI)
Targets
This must be written on a Word Online document in your Teams folder titled “Induction Project” – approx. 300 - 500 words.
